| Registration: | Graduands are required to register for the Ceremony via the below registration link. Graduands who fail to register by June 14, 2026 (Sunday) HKT 23:59 will be considered as not attending the Ceremony and will be conferred in absentia. (open from June 1, 2026 HKT 10:00 to June 14, 2026 HKT 23:59) Eligible graduands registered for the Ceremony will receive a confirmation email by late June 2026, including detailed arrangements of the Ceremony and event admission QR codes for registered participants. Each graduand can invite a maximum of 2 guests to join the Ceremony. Kindly note that guest seating in the Grand Hall is limited and will be allocated based on the order in which graduands first submit their registrations through our system. Priority will be given to those who register earlier. Any re-submissions will not affect the graduands’ initial submission time recorded in the system. Under the circumstances that the Hall reaches its maximum capacity, guests will be seated at a nearby live broadcasting room to join the ceremony. |

In view of some graduands’ special needs, HKU will host a Virtual Congregation on June 9, 2026 (Tuesday). IMPORTANT NOTE: Eligible graduands can attend EITHER the In-person Ceremony OR the Virtual Congregation. If you have registered for both, you will be deemed to have joined the Virtual Congregation and we will NOT process your registration for the In-person Ceremony. Registration:
Only graduands eligible for graduation can attend the Congregation Ceremony. If you have questions on your graduation eligibility, please contact your respective programme office directly.
Unfortunately, you cannot register for the Congregation Ceremony after the registration deadline. Please contact us at fbegraduation@hku.hk if you have any questions.
Attendance at the Congregation will not affect graduands' graduation status/eligibility.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer the deferral of Congregation Ceremony attendance.
Visa:
Graduands should check the latest entry requirements for traveling to Hong Kong before registration.
If you have registered for attending the Congregation Ceremony, you will receive a confirmation email by late June 2026. If you require a copy of the invitation letter in advance to support your visa application, please contact us at fbegraduation@hku.hk.
Please note that the Faculty is unable to provide additional invitation letter to support visa applications for guests. We recommend you and your guests ensure all necessary visa requirements are met well in advance of the Ceremony to avoid any inconvenience.
Academic Dress and Certificate:
Graduands are required to collect academic dress before the event, please visit the HKU Congregation website for suggested attire. For details of loan of academic dress, please contact: congmail@hku.hk
You are required to bring a full set of academic dress and to ensure proper attire is worn together with the academic regalia. You may wish to bring safety pins to secure the gown and hood in place. Please wear appropriate footwear for walking up and down the stage steps. Please refer to the suggested attire here.

Adverse Weather Arrangements:
If Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above, or the Rainstorm Black Warning Signal, or 'Extreme Conditions' is in force on July 8 and 9, 2026 (Wednesday and Thursday), the following arrangements will be applied:
Morning session
If any of the warnings is hoisted or in force at/after 7:00 a.m., the morning session will be cancelled.
If any of the warnings is lowered or cancelled at/before 7:00 a.m., the Ceremony of the day will be held as scheduled.
Afternoon session
If any of the warnings is hoisted or in force at/after 10:00 a.m., the afternoon session will be cancelled.
If any of the warnings is lowered or cancelled at/before 10:00 a.m., the Ceremony of the day will be held as scheduled.
